Our journey began in 2009, when our founder, Rob Osborne, decided to create an online directory aimed at helping people find care services. Despite winning awards for its technical prowess, the project faced financial difficulties due to the economic climate at the time and eventually had to be closed down. However, this experience provided Rob with valuable insights into the world of digital marketing, and he realised that he had a passion for it. He decided to share his knowledge with other small business owners, so they could avoid making the same mistakes he did.

Meet Our Founder

Rob Osborne, our founder and CEO, has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. He has worked as a programmer, business and systems analyst, project manager, and programme manager. During his time working for a large shire council, Rob developed the concept for a website directory aimed at helping people find social care services and settings. This concept eventually led to the creation of the award-winning website www.choosemycare.com.

Although the site was successful as a concept and saw steady growth in usage, the economic climate at the time meant it was not financially viable, and the site eventually had to be closed down. Through the promotion of choosemycare.com, Rob learned the skills of digital marketing, which he has since applied to a number of other companies. This experience has now become the future focus of Red Knight Solutions.

What's in a Name?

Choosing a name for our business was one of the most challenging tasks we faced. After brainstorming ideas with family and friends, we decided that the company would be providing solutions, so that would be included in the company name. One weekend, while trying to find inspiration, my wife picked up a book from our bookshelf, which happened to be a synopsis of the episodes of Mr. Benn, the children's TV show from the 1970s. When I was young, I used to love watching Mr. Benn, and I always remembered the character of the Red Knight, who would appear in every episode to help Mr. Benn out of tricky situations. It was the perfect name for our company, as it reflects our commitment to providing solutions and helping businesses overcome their challenges in the digital world.
